Two-day extravaganza of crafts and crafting for all the family

A brand-new event was staged at Stonham Barns Park at the weekend.  The debut Easter Craft Market attracted ‘crafters’ from all over the East of England.

It gave people the chance to visit the venue over the Easter period to see craft demonstrations and to see what unique gifts were for sale for themselves or friends and family!

There were stalls with hand-made locally produced gifts that are not available on the High Street and during the day the venue showcased some live music by way of entertainment.

There were also ‘make-your-own-crafts’ areas with pottery demonstrations, and a chance to ‘have-a-go’ on the potter’s wheel, paint your own pottery, and various other crafts for visitors to try, along with many crafting stalls. There was also an Easter Egg Hunt for children.

Lexden-based YouTuber Corrine Bradd from Crafts Beautiful Magazine – also attended the show doing LIVE demos for the visitors and social media followers.  The demos included sewing and quilting.

The event was organised by the Stonham Barns Park Events Team in association with Laura Mackley of Eastern Pottery Supplies – a developing craft supply business at the venue – recently launched by Laura after she decided to turn a hobby into a business.  She has used her newfound skills as a potter to bring together a range of pottery materials to fill a gap in the market.  Says Laura, ‘The Easter Craft Market was put on for anyone who is captivated by creativity and so many people are now hooked on hobbies. We were delighted with the attendance and will be putting on a similar show in the autumn.’

‘Whether your interest is in drawing, painting, macrame, knitting, crocheting, textiles, glass, metal or pottery, there really was something for everyone.’

‘Stonham Barns Park retail village is becoming a hub for crafters and hobbyists and that makes perfect sense as Suffolk is the ideal spot for inspiration and creativity.’

‘It was an awesome debut show.  We will be planning more to follow.’

The weekend also provided visitors with the opportunity to take a look around around 40 unique shops that are open in the retail village.

Stonham Barns Park does not just offer great shows and events, it has many attractions for the whole family onsite including an owl and bird of prey centre, pirate adventure golf course, 9-hole golf course, vintage dodgem rides and funfair rides, indoor soft play centre, fishing lakes, water activities lake, teapot pottery, restaurant and tearoom and plenty of unique shops and much more.
