a Fast Track tennis ball and net system will encourage more people to practice and enhance their game ahead of the new tennis season
Stonham Barns Park – mid-Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday venue – has added another new sports facility to its fast-growing retail village.
Two indoor tennis ball and net systems will offer tennis training regardless of partner, court and trainer availability. The new facility – introduced by tennis coach Nick Frost – allows indoor play all year around. The two side-by-side courts allow training off court for beginners and professionals, from young to old. It means there is no need to collect the ball and it offers 20 hits per minute or 1200 hits per hour. The facility is also retailing a wide selection of rackets and balls.
Says Nick, ‘This is a real court scenario – but indoors – which offers a real tennis feeling while participating in intensive training. It is the optimal system for training for technique and footwork, and it is becoming highly popular with a wide range of players of all ages and abilities.’
Nick, who lives at Stoke by Nayland, has coached tennis for the past 24 years in Suffolk and Essex. He coaches at Earls Colne, Gosfield and Castle Heddingham Tennis Clubs and is Head Coach at Grundisburgh Tennis Club. He is LTA, PTR and RPT qualified.
He continues, ‘Indoor tennis training facilities offer significant advantages for players. The Hitting Hut will provide a controlled environment where weather conditions such as rain, wind, or extreme temperatures cannot interfere with practice sessions. This consistency helps players to focus on improving their technique and fitness without interruption.’
‘Additionally, indoor facilities often extend playing hours, making it easier to fit training into busy schedules, especially during the darker winter months. Overall, these benefits contribute to sustained progress and greater enjoyment of the sport.’
‘I am looking forward to introducing this Fast Track Tennis system to the people and players of Suffolk and Norfolk. It really does enhance development through practice, muscle memory for forehand and backhand play, improved attention span and better balance, coordination and reaction time.’
‘The system is revolutionising the tennis market, and I am delighted to be able to offer it here at Stonham Aspal which is already popular with golfers for the excellent facilities at the venue.’
Nick is looking to develop Pickle Ball and Padel Ball at Stonham Barns Park too but needs to recruit professionals from the newer racket sports to provide coaching to go alongside the facility. He is selling a range of different rackets at The Hitting Hut too and can give advice on the best rackets for the individuals who are ready to buy into tennis as a sport, or one of the new and emerging racket sports.
Stonham Barns Park is a vibrant leisure, retail, and holiday destination in Suffolk, featuring over 44 diverse outlets, attractions, accommodation, and events for families and individuals. With its creative spirit, welcoming environment and free parking, it continues to be a preferred destination for out-of-town shopping and leisure.
