the Suffolk Land Rover Show adds new feature – The Freelander Jamboree
For the third year running, Stonham Barns Park – Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destination – is hosting the hugely popular Land Rover Show 2025 which will combine the roar of off-road vehicles and the spirit of exploration.
On Sunday 5th October the venue will be showcasing all things 4×4, strongly supported by clubs from the area who will be displaying classic, modified, and new Land Rovers. The exhibits will include Freelander, Discovery, Defender, Evoke and Range Rover. Every display car driver, plus one passenger, will be admitted free.
There will be an auto jumble, club trade stands, live music and food outlets serving throughout the day’s event.
Suffolk Land Rover Club will be just one of the clubs at the show. To make the show more interactive, the club will be providing off-road rides on a specially made course to demonstrate the manoeuvrability, resilience, and handling of the unique 4x4s. This is always a runaway success with many visitors opting for an off-road ‘experience’ to see how these vehicles could handle the lumps and bumps of the rural terrain.
Stonham Barns Park Events Manager David Sandpearl comments, ‘This show is now well established with the Land Rover clubs and owners in Suffolk. There was so much enthusiasm brought to the show last year – and so many and varied 4x4s – and we have developed the concept further for this year with the addition of The Freelander Jamboree Team who will bring even more activities into play.’
‘This is a unique event for Suffolk with an atmosphere like no other. It is now a hugely successful part of the Mid Suffolk Showground’s event calendar – welcomed by both car enthusiasts and the local farming community – and we are very proud to be preparing more content for this year’s show to attract an even larger audience.’
‘Whether you are a die-hard Land Rover devotee or simply curious about the legacy of these iconic 4x4s, visitors will relish this annual celebration of these off-road machines.’
This year the event is being supported by The Freelander Jamboree. Inspired by the global Land Rover G4 Challenge, Nomad Hippo service and MOT business in Ipswich is running the activity which is a family focussed event for all Land Rover enthusiasts. The event is centred on a fitness driving course in the centre of the Showground which offers visitors the opportunity to drive a 2006 Freelander HSE Automatic, affectionately known as the Hippo. There will also be Entertainment Games for all ages.
Paulo Sousa of The Freelander Jamboree says, ‘We are delighted to be bringing this new concept to visitors this year. It gives show visitors the chance to get involved in what makes 4x4s so compelling and enjoyable to drive. As the saying goes, One Life, Live It!’
‘We will be bringing The Freelander Jamboree along – for its debut exhibition – to demonstrate some driving skills, meet new enthusiasts and have some fun – and we encourage anyone who might be interested to come and join us!’
Stonham Barns Park has a huge following in East Anglia as a leading show venue.
Said Terri Forward, Director of Stonham Barns Park, ‘We will have all the action and adventure here in the heart of Mid-Suffolk. Stonham Barns Park is set to transform into a haven for automotive passion, where stories of rugged expeditions combine with stories of new journeys yet to come.’
‘The show will bring its usual mix of excitement and adrenaline – everyone loves it!’
